WHATS HAPPENING AT NORTHWOOD
Teen Sunday: We invite everyone to join us this Sunday as Northwood is honored to have all eight teens lead us in worship. It will be a service you don’t want to miss. In preparation for this upcoming Teen Sunday Rev. Maggie is requesting that all participating teens be present this Saturday, April 28, at 1:30 P.M. in the sanctuary in order to rehearse for Worship. Chinese Dinner: This Sunday is Northwood’s Annual Chinese Dinner at the Silver Fountain Restaurant in Aspen Hill
Keyed Up About Keys? For security reasons, the church entrance doors and inside doors are in the process of being rekeyed. All church staff, day care staff, Session elders, and others who need church access may request new keys. New keys can be obtained from the Office Manager on weekdays and on Sundays from the Administrative Team Chair, Les Henig.
Technology and Communication Team Forming: The Session is forming a new team for the purpose of enhancing current forms of communication and seeking and developing methods in order to share and spread the good new of Jesus Christ as it unfolds here at Northwood Church. Would you like to be on board? See Alison Crichton.
Yay for Northwood and For You, Times 2! The Second Sunday Spirit and Service
Teams meet the Second Sundays of each month from 11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. for planning
and accomplishing the ministries that enhance and benefit our congregation. We have
nine teams with close to sixty members now participating in the mission of Northwood
Church. It’s very exciting to see so may involved! If you have not yet affiliated with a
team, please know you are always invited to do so. Simply speak to the pastor or any
elder. Spirit and Service Team Descriptions can be found on the info desk in the rear of
the sanctuary.
Offering Counters Needed: Volunteers to record and count the Sunday offering are
needed after worship for 90 minutes, nine times a year. Training is provided. See Peter
McPhie or the Pastor for more information. Thank you for considering another way to
assist your church.
Liturgist Coordinator Needed: Work from home! Our current volunteer is ready to retire
as Liturgist Coordinator for Sunday worship. All you need is a telephone to recruit persons
to assist in worship. Contact Doreen Davis, Worship Team Chair, for more info.
Lunch Bunch: Save the date! May 16th is our next Lunch Bunch gathering. Parish Care is planning the last one before summer and we would like to see you there, sandwiches in hand. We will provide salads, drinks, chips and cookies. Bob Lawson is heading up the entertainment, so come and find out what Bob and his Wheaton Rescue family have in store for us. See you at 12:30 P.M.!
